An RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed is a format for delivering regularly changing web content (e.g. recently updated news headlines, reviews or blog entries) on a website, with links to go directly to any content you're interested in reading in greater detail.
Once you've subscribed to a feed, updates can be received without having to remember to visit each site every day. So to keep up-to-date with the Ladies Night Out Club latest events you can subscribe to our RSS feed!
There are several ways of receiving RSS feeds with the main method being to download a program called a 'reader' or 'aggregator'. This is a piece of software that checks RSS feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added to them. You can then set up this program to receive RSS information and browse headlines and story summaries without opening a full connection to the originating website.
Alternatively, some newer web browsers (e.g. FireFox 3, Opera, Internet Explorer 7 and Safari) offer similar functionality already built-in which will detect whether the website you are viewing offers an RSS feed and will then let you create a constantly-updated list of links in your 'bookmarks' menu.
Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your home/work computer.
Firstly, you need to download and install a piece of Feed Reader software. There are many different versions to choose from but all do the same basic essentials that you need to get started. To begin with, we'd recommend choosing a free feed reader from the programs listed below.
Feed Readers / Aggregators:
As an alternative to downloading a separate program, it is possible to obtain a plug-in or extension for your web browser to manage your RSS feeds.
Browser Extensions / Plugins:
Finally, the below websites offer the possibility to manage your favourite RSS feeds online from any computer with an internet connection.
Web-based Services:
The Ladies Night Out Club is not responsible for the content of external internet websites.
Once your reader software is downloaded and installed on your computer, you will be prompted to add feeds to it that you want to check. Look for the "Add Feed" option in the reader software and click on it. You will then be asked for the "Location" or "URL" of the feed. Simply cut and paste any of the RSS addresses below or click the relevant "RSS Logo"
where seen on a page.

The feed reader program will then check for the latest stories in the feed and update your software accordingly, Depending on your settings, the software should then automatically check for updates at regular intervals.
