Race for life

On Sunday Victoria and I did the Race for Life and managed to finish the 5k course in 40 minutes. We ran (and walked a bit!) with each other the whole way round the course and I'm really proud that in doing so we managed to raise over £140 between us for Cancer Research!

In the end the weather was quite good and luckily it wasn't too hot with a nice breeze keeping us cool. It was funny to warm up in the pouring rain but in a way it added to the atmosphere which was electric. Tarnia our closest friend was also with us and thanks to her extra training she managed to finish the course in only 33 minutes.

Apparently next year we will be aiming for the 10k. We'd best start the training now then!

Hello all you lovely ladies out there. My name is Danielle, I am 29, moved to Derby in August last year leaving my social life and close friends behind:-( Very difficult when working shifts, moving somewhere new and starting a new career in a new place. All of my new work collegues are wonderful but live in Nottingham. I will be honest and say I am finding it difficult to have a social life in Derby. Hi all, I'm Colina - recently moved to beautiful derby having married a wonderful man. I work near Mansfield and haven't had the time until now to make some new friends. I'm just 32, love food, wine, gossip, travel - I'd love to say the gym but I'd be telling porkies! Would like to meet other ladies in a similar situations.
