About this Event

The aim of the book club is to read a book every six weeks, meet and discuss what we think about the book and afterwards you have the opportunity to post your review on the website.

If I Stay by Gayle Forman

'Just listen,' Adam says with a voice that sounds like shrapnel. I open my eyes wide now. I sit up as much as I can. And I listen. 'Stay,' he says. Everybody has to make choices. Some might break you. For seventeen-year-old Mia, surrounded by a wonderful family, friends and a gorgeous boyfriend decisions might seem tough, but they're all about a future full of music and love, a future that's brimming with hope. But life can change in an instant. A cold February morning ...a snowy road ...and suddenly all of Mia's choices are gone. Except one. As alone as she'll ever be, Mia must make the most difficult choice of all. Gripping, heartrending and ultimately life-affirming, "If I Stay" will make you appreciate all that you have, all that you've lost - and all that might be.

A Jolly Good Read

I really liked this book especially compared with the last one. It had some passages that I could personally relate to but without giving the ending away I can't comment further. Thought the author wove an interesting story line and handed the flash backs very well. Must check out what else she has written.

If I stay...

This isn't the kind of book I would usually pick up so I was pleasantly surprised. It was a very thought provoking story. I also thought that it was really easy to read and written really well - the author sucessfully told the story from the perspective of a seventeen year old whilst making it realistic and in-depth enough for a (just slightly) older-than-seventeen year old reader to find believable. I'd def read books by this author again.
