Relaxation at Sketchley Grange and The Wonky Table

The last couple of weekends have been so packed I have barely had time to update the blog.
On Friday 4 March five of us went to Sketchley Grange near Leicester for a Twilight Spa experience. There was a lovely Romanesque style pool area and a sauna and steam room as well as a Jacuzzi (which was very very bubbly). It was so nice to have half a day off work and just escape for the afternoon and for only £25 it was a bargain. The dinner in the evening was absolutely delicious and I floated off home afterwards feeling very relaxed. A big thank you to Sam for organising the event.
During last week we had a fantastic discussion at the book club. This time we talked about To Kill a Mockingbird and the discussion questions that I had prepared definitely encouraged a lively discussion. I think everyone was in agreement that the book was timeless and some of the issues highlighted in the book were still relevant and present in today’s society. Take a look at some of the reviews
On Saturday nine of us meet up for lunch at the new café on Sadlergate called The Wonky Table. The café were so good that they had seen the event on the website and reserved us a table upstairs and we were even treated to a small shot of low alchol cherry bakewell. I had a great cappuccino and a haloumi cheese and grilled vegetable ciabatta which was very tasty. I had a good chat with one of the managers afterwards and hopefully we will be running a cocktail making and dinner event soon with them.
On the same day in Leicester Sam took a group to visit the New Walk Museum to look at some of their latest collections and for Afternoon Tea at Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms afterwards.
In the next couple of weeks I am very excited about a few of our bigger social events the first being the club social and cocktail night at Bar Sixteen on Friday 25 March and the two end of the month meals at Le Bistrot Pierre and Crème on 31 March so come and join us if you are free.
