We had a great day on Saturday 19 February in Belper and despite the weather (it was raining) we still completed the 2 mile walk around the town. I was acting as a bit of a tourist guide and was able to tell the group about some of the history of the town.

The ladies saw the historic mills built by the Strutt family and the north mill which is one of the most significant elements of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. We also walked through the wonderful River Gardens which were created and given to the town by George Herbert Strutt in 1906.

We did try to get a bite to eat at I Should Cocoa at the end of the walk but it was full which was a shame. However we managed to get a table in the Black Swan in the markeplace and had a great lunch and luckily they also served hot chocolate so the ladies didn't miss out.
