  • The Pudding Club in Belper

    Monday, 18 July 2011 |

Wow what a decadent evening we had at the Pudding Club at the Lion Hotel in Belper it was great to share an evening of eating desserts with the other members.

So what is a pudding club? Well at a pudding club you have courses of puddings instead of the traditional starter, main and dessert. Having never been to a pudding club before but knowing how the concept works I was really looking forward to trying the five puddings on offer.

  • Fishy pedicure

    Thursday, 14 April 2011 |

The fish pedicure on Saturday at Appy Feet was a fun and different experience and something which I think a few of us will be trying again. The staff were really friendly and told us all about the Garra Rufa fish and what the experience gave us the health questionnnaires to fill in and got eight foot spas for us to put our feet in before we were allowed to expose our feet to the fish.

  • Belper walk

    Monday, 28 February 2011 |

We had a great day on Saturday 19 February in Belper and despite the weather (it was raining) we still completed the 2 mile walk around the town. I was acting as a bit of a tourist guide and was able to tell the group about some of the history of the town.

  • Ingleby walk

    Sunday, 9 January 2011 |

We were so lucky today on the 4.5 mile walk from Ingleby. The sun was shining and it was so nice to be out walking early on a Sunday. I managed to get some great photos and we walked through some of the best landscape in Southern Derbyshire.

    Personal shopping Leicester

    Saturday, 8 January 2011 |

Wow what a great day. I was so pleased with the ladies who work in the personal shopping service. When we arrived we were treated to tea, coffee and cake. Rose and her ladies then talked to us about body shape and the way to put together a capsule wardrobe.

  • Come Dine with Me – week 2

    Wednesday, 17 November 2010 |

The Come Dine with Me this week was at Maria’s house. She lives in Oakwood with her boxer dog Fred who gave me a very enthusiastic greeting when I got there. I was the first one there so I think that Fred probably got rid of most of his excitement and by the time Dawn arrived he definitely wasn’t as bothered about running about and saying hello.

Maria was a good host and I was offered a drink as soon as I sat down and I was the only one that went for the sparkly rose on offer.

  • Come Dine with Me - week 1

    Thursday, 11 November 2010 |

Well the first Come Dine with Me night went very well and I was pleased with the food that I served. I really thought I would be in a right flap but I wasn’t and I felt really calm throughout the evening. I got all the ladies seated and served them all a glass of bubbly which I think everyone enjoyed and got to work finishing off the starter which was a Greek salad. To be honest even though it was winter it was nice to have something that reminded me of summer time.
