Meet the Ladies Night Out Club team!

Each member of our fantastic team has a part to play in making the Ladies Night Out Club a great place to socialise and meet new friends. The club is all about you but this page is about us so, without further ado, let's introduce you to the team...

Tara McGarell - Ladies Night Out Club Coordinator

Tara McGarell (Club Coordinator)

I have been running the club now for over two years and love every minute. It is a great feeling knowing that you are making a difference to people's social lives and inevitably their life in general. I have met so many lovely ladies and I now count a great many of them as friends.

Outside of the club my partner and I are busy planning our wedding and finishing some of the essential work to our house in Kilburn near Belper. I also enjoy walking, mountain biking, shopping, afternoon tea, baking and just relaxing with some close friends.

If you are thinking of coming along to an event don't worry as there is always myself, Carolyn or Sam there to welcome you. Also I don't know any of our members who weren't slightly nervous about meeting new people, but once the first event was over they were eager to come along to the next event.

There are lots of events to choose from and you can always let us know if there is something you would like to do that isn't on offer, just get in touch!

Victoria Bailey - Ladies Night Out Club Website Coordinator

Victoria Bailey (Website Coordinator)

You're more likely to find me behind my computer screens than on the dance floor but when I'm out I like nothing more than a large bag of popcorn, a diet coke and to sit down in one of Derbyshire's many cinemas.

I'm a film buff at heart, a sci-fi geek and techie who loves discovering new ways to create cool web stuff - just like this website you're browsing now!

I've known Tara for about 5 years and it's been a pleasure to work with her watching the Ladies Night Out Club grow. I still can't believe we've come so far in such a short space of time but knowing Tara as I do - this will just be the start for the club!

Hopefully our new website will make it easier for everyone to search and book on all of our great events. Feedback about the website or ideas for any new features you'll like to see are always welcome!

Carolyn Wainner - Ladies Night Out Club Nottingham Hostess

Carolyn Wainner (Nottingham Hostess)

I recently moved to the Midlands area and was stuck with where to start finding a new social circle. I discovered the Ladies Night Out Club whilst searching on Google and contacted Tara.

Tara invited me to attend an event as a trial and I decided to go with the Book Club. In all honesty it was a little nerve racking going along to someone's house and sitting with a group of people I hadn't met before. Needless to say I took the chance and loved it. It was great to meet like minded people and Tara and the other ladies made me feel very welcome.

I joined straight after the event as a full member and have attended numerous events since from walking in some very muddy fields to shaking my stuff at a Burlesque workshop! Tara organises all her events well and gives a wide choice of events so there is something to suit everyone and also the chance to try a few new things.

Now as a result of what the club has offered me I now host events for the club in Nottingham and look forward to offering ladies in Nottingham the opportunity to improve their social lives and make some new friends in the process.

Sam Beetham - Ladies Night Out Club Leicester Hostess

Sam Beetham (Leicester Hostess)

Having known Tara for several years I joined the Ladies Night Out Club from the start and have enjoyed going to the Derby events. You will see plenty of pictures of me at past events but just to confuse you I was dark brunette and am now blonde!

In April 2010 my job was transferred to Leicester and I relocated there moving in with my boyfriend. I've enjoyed Leicester as a visitor for several years and I'm happy that it is now my home city. I've discovered some fabulous places and look forward to sharing them with club members, discovering more great places and meeting new people.

When I'm not working or doing DIY, I enjoy going to the theatre, gym (usually for pilates or swimming), reading, cooking and going out with friends. I'm planning a variety of events in Leicester including eating out, cinema, theatre and walking. Feedback and suggestions for future events will always be appreciated!

Katie Bailey (Club Photographer)

I have been a photographer for 10 years and love running my own business. For me, photography is about capturing people in their natural surroundings so I always shoot on location and really enjoy the challenge presented by each new locale I find myself in.

As part of the Club I love photographing my friends at lovely restaurants, fun craft and cooking events (usually coming a resounding last in the bake off competitions!) and the gorgeous scenery on a healthy walk out.

So, I look forward to meeting you at one of the great upcoming events. Don't be afraid, the camera doesn't bite and if you remind me to put it down once in a while, I'm not so bad to know either!
